Storytelle depicts stories from a female perspective to a broad audience. In our films and series we like to draw attention to women in society who find themselves in different life situations – always from a particular point of view. These perspectives can be sometimes cheerful, sometimes mystic, sometimes bizarre, sometimes complicated, sometimes sad, sometimes politically significant, sometimes encouraging, sometimes inspiring or sometimes just make you laugh.
Storytelle is a new label belonging to the TELLUX group and it is located at the ALPHA Entertainment offices in Cologne.

  • Who we are

    Wiebke Mercier und Carolin Engstfeld

Wiebke and Carolin met in a shared flat in Berlin. What a coincidence: Not only are they both from Cologne, but they both just started out in the film and television industry. Carolin as a student at the Babelsberg Film University and Wiebke with her first job at a production company. After years together in Torstraße, they both drifted into different professions and cities: Wiebke did her Master of Producing in England, followed by Serial Eyes at the dffb and built up the Drama Series Days at the EFM of the Berlinale. Carolin learned how broadcasters tick as a consultant to the managing director at TELE 5 and headed the internal think tank there. After years they met again in Cologne: Wiebke worked as a producer at Sony Film- and TV Production, where she produced series such as LIFELINES (RTL), HELDT (ZDF) and most recently GEFÄHRLICHE NÄHE (TVnow). Carolin headed the development department at Splendid Studios and developed various documentary formats and expanded the fiction division. This was followed by the Media X Change Masterclass in showrunning in LA. Since summer 2021, the two are running the storytelle production label..

It is full of strange characters, peculiarities and especially many women who put our understanding of family and trust to a hard test. Years ago, little boys were killed here in a bestial way. To this day, there is a man in prison for this, who claims that he did not commit the murders, but that he hunted down the women responsible, whom he believes to be witches. Every person in Königstal has something to hide and we open up the deepest abysses.

The more Karla allows herself to be drawn into her sister's life, the more she feels that there are more secrets between them than shared stories.
